What was the result of the Holy Spirit coming in power on that first Day of Pentecost? The gospel was preached to the lost. Peter, having been filled with the Holy Spirit, stands up and gives the sermon of all sermons. The people asked, what do these things mean? Peter explained what happened: the Spirit had come. He explained how it happened: Jesus was alive. And he explained why it happened: to save sinners. And 3000 souls were added to their number!
