Dear Friends,
CrossRoads Christian Fellowship is a unique group of people brought together
by God! We are English-speaking people primarily from the United States,
Canada, and Mexico. Some of us live here year round, others for only part of
the year. Some of us live in houses; others on boats in the marinas. Some of
us are actively employed, others retired. And we also come from all types of
Christian backgrounds: Baptist, Presbyterian, Methodist, Greek-Orthodox, Roman
Catholic, Independant, Pentecostal, Assembly of God, Lutheran, and so on. Because
of our diversity, we truly do claim unity in Christ as the Apostle Paul states
in Galatians 3:28 . . .
There is neither Jew nor Greek, slave nor free,
male nor female, for you are all one in Jesus Christ
We came to La Paz in June 2000. Pastor Alejandro Alejandro Varela, pastor of the
First Baptist Church of La Paz, was then serving as the President of the Baja Sur
Baptist Convention. As part of our ministry with this convention, he invited us to
begin work with English speaking people. We started a Bible study in our home that
grew to a worship service in our house, expanded to a store-front on Prieto street,
and then to our present location on Abasolo. Some of the original attendees in the
first Bible Study are still with us, but many others have come and gone as they've
journeyed through La Paz by land, air and sea.
We have been blessed by each person that God has brought through the doors of
CrossRoads. Your faces and lives have been inscribed upon our hearts. Each one
of you matters to us, and even more importantly, each on of you matters to God.
Thank you for the opportunity to serve as your missionary pastors.
In Christ's Love,
The Revs. David and Joyce Reed
